sweetgeorgia studio is a production dyeing, knitting, spinning and weaving studio that you can actually use.

This is the place for you. sweetgeorgia studio was created to provide access to affordable and properly equipped studio space for dyers, spinners, weavers, knitters, crafters and fibre artists.

We use an online reservation system for all our weaving looms, spinning wheels and warping equipment:

* We use three classes of dyes in our studio: acid dyes for wool and silk; Procion dyes for cellulose fibres; and natural dyes and alum mordant. We do not use vat dyes at the studio. To qualify for independent dye studio time, you must have prior dye experience plus a studio orientation, or you can complete our three-hour “Dye Room Essentials” class (dates to be announced).
** With a $100 damage deposit and signed rental agreement, spinning wheels can be taken home during the rental period.
sweetgeorgia yarns is an authorized Schacht Spindle and Louet dealer. Both companies make exquisite weaving looms of various sizes, spinning wheels for a range of budgets, carding and winding equipment. Any of these wonderful items can be ordered and shipped directly to you. Please visit the studio to see many of these looms and wheels in person.
In the studio, we have plenty of hand-dyed yarns and fibres that are available for your next knitting or weaving project. We do try to update our online shop regularly, however, if you are in the area and would like to touch and feel the yarns in person, please come by. You might find something that you’ve never seen online before.
