We are an artisan yarn company based in the Pacific Northwest that is intently focused on producing the most delicious and vibrant colours on the most exquisite and luxurious natural fibre yarns we can get our hands on. Your designs in our yarns will be published by SweetGeorgia and distributed via PDF on our online shop, Ravelry, and through our retail shops.
What we are looking for
We’re on the hunt for designs that feature and take advantage of the nature of hand-dyed yarns. Garments and accessories that are simple yet infinitely wearable — clothes you would want to live in. We have offered moodboards in the past with colour and yarn suggestions, but we will consider all ideas and submissions.
Please send your best, unique, and previously unpublished designs for sweaters, shawls, socks, hats and accessories for women, men, children and babies. One, two or three-skein projects are especially welcome.
What we offer
Designers of accepted free patterns will receive a one-time monetary compensation dependant on the complexity of the design. Designers of paid patterns will receive a percentage of pattern sales, paid quarterly via PayPal.
SweetGeorgia Yarns provides yarn support for all accepted patterns as well as tech-editing, design, and photography as needed.
All designers retain full rights to their designs, however SweetGeorgia Yarns is given exclusive publication rights for the duration of the contract.
How to submit
Please send your proposal as a PDF that includes your sketches, photographs, descriptions, pattern notes, sample charts, a generous-sized swatch, and proposed yarns.
