About SweetGeorgia Yarns

SweetGeorgia Yarns is an artisan yarn company that makes exquisite hand-dyed yarns for knitting and fibres for spinning. Our live/work space at 4th and Main street is our production dye studio where we dye all our yarns. Knitters and spinners are welcome to get a glimpse into the world of hand-dyed yarn and experience a slice of the sweet life.

Founded in 2005, SweetGeorgia Yarns is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. SweetGeorgia is about intense, relentless and unapologetic colour. Sometimes irreverent and fierce. Sometimes bubbly and saccharine sweet. Always exquisitely appealing.

Felicia Lo, Owner

Felicia Lo, aka sweetgeorgia, is a designer, dyer and entrepreneur based in Vancouver, British Columbia. With an educational background spanning pharmaceutical science, communication design, photography and textile arts, she has dedicated her time and efforts over the past decade to developing multiple, diverse businesses and now focuses her energies on designing for and dyeing for the hand dyed yarn company, SweetGeorgia Yarns.

The SweetGeorgia Yarns Studio

Our production dye (and sometimes spinning/weaving) studio is located in a live/work space at 4th and Main Street in Vancouver. This unassuming concrete building features exquisite natural light spilling into our space from floor-to-ceiling windows on two walls. We are blessed to be able to see the snow-covered mountains of Cypress and Grouse from our studio as we work. The studio is open to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the week and on any given day, you’ll find yarn being dyed, dried, re-skeined or packaged. Knitters and spinners are welcome to get a glimpse into the world of hand-dyed yarn and experience a slice of the sweet life.

Supernatural SweetGeorgia

In 2008, we created a new collection called Supernatural SweetGeorgia for yarns and fibres from organic, sustainable and renewable sources. Supernatural SweetGeorgia’s yarns and fibres are hand-dyed in a wide range of inspired colours with different combinations of natural and plant dyes. Multiple overdyes and multi-step processes… there’s a whole lot of love in these yarns. With the purchase of these products, 1% of the proceeds will be donated to benefit environmental organizations that SweetGeorgia believes will create a supersweet, supernatural planet.

OnePercentForThePlanet is an alliance of businesses committed to leveraging their resources to create a healthier planet. Members donate at least 1% of their annual net revenues to environmental organizations worldwide.
