Nineteen Twenty Shrug Details

  • MATERIALS: 2 skeins SweetGeorgia Yarns Merino Silk Fine in Mink (380 yd / 347 m per 3.53 oz / 100 g skein; 50% Merino Silk, 50% Cultivated Silk)
  • SIZES: Small/Medium (Medium/Large): accommodates shoulder-to-shoulder width up to 15 (17.25)” / 38 (44) cm, and upper arm circumference up to 10.5 (12)” / 28 (32) cm.
  • SKILLS REQUIRED: Long-tail cast on, knitting back and forth, knitting in the round, lace, picking up stitches, seaming using the mattress stitch.
  • PATTERN NOTES: The rectangle-shaped body is worked flat and blocked. Side edges are then folded together and seamed to produce the armholes. Finally, garter trims for the main body and armholes are knit in the round by picking up stitches along the edges.
The two sizes provided are very easy-fitting and can accommodate a multitude of actual dress sizes. Since the shrug is designed to be worn open at the front, shoulder-to-shoulder measurement across the back is more crucial than bust measurement. If you are uncertain or between sizes, choose the larger one for more drape, or the smaller one for a more snug fit.
