How about some Thursday morning _yum?_ Here you go:

Junky Batt

This is some of the thrums, scraps, bits & bobs, and leftovers that I’ve collected for nearly a year. Every time I get a bit of junky leftover fibre that I don’t want to try to incorporate into my spinning, I set it aside in a little strawberry container. The container was getting pretty full, so last week when our class drum carder was available, I carded the whole shebang into this little batt. I should do this more often.

That looks delicious, and to think I have a whole entire laundry basket full of bits!

Phenomenol idea!!! Thank you! I’ve been throwing all those scraps away, but I think I’ll start saving them. Only problem is I don’t have a drum carder. Oh well – I’ll figure that out when I have enough scraps.

Stick two googly eyes on it to turn it into a wooly, technicolor sheepdog.

Never thought of doing that. I usually donate to the nest building birds. But now, if I drag the drum carder out from under it’s cave in the guest room (a.k.a. roving room) I could also incorporate cat fuzz balls, I mean feline down, at the same time!

I’ve been saving up my little bits in an old hatbox, waiting until I have enough to make a little batt. I love yours!

Be careful that you don’t get mud when combining scraps – as I learned from personal experience! Have you considered sorting by color?

And btw, damn you for igniting PG (Supercard) lust into my dreams again. :p

You could end up making unique blends like Crosspatch Creations (which I just love but haven’t gotten around to buying yet). Congrats on getting the carder!

What a sweet little bundle! What will you make of it? It needs a noble destiny, after all that languishing.

Very pretty batts, and I guess I agree with your decision re drumcarder vs shoes. Re the cinnabar zephyr, you can get another 600 yards or so at http://www.maplecroft.ca/ – a Canadian distributor who sells retail. I realize it might be different dye lots, but the silk and wool is “tweedy” enough it might work.
